Convicted of Amended Charge

Probable Cause

That on May 1, 2016, Breezy Point Police Officer Jay Lorch informed Crosslake Police Sergeant Erik Lee of a possible Order for Protection (OFP) violation that occurred within the City of Crosslake, Crow Wing County, Minnesota. Officer Lorch advised Sergeant Lee that B.A. had received a friend request on Facebook from Michael Munger, the above named defendant. On February 5, 2016, the Honorable Kristine R. DeMay issued an Order for Protection which prohibits the defendant from having any contact with B.A., specifically through social media, as more thoroughly reflected in Crow Wing County District Court File number 18-FA-15-2776. The Order for Protection is in effect until February 7, 2026.

Sergeant Lee met with B.A. at her residence in the City of Crosslake. B.A. told Sergeant Lee that she had received the friend request on May 1, 2016 from the defendant. Sergeant Lee observed B.A.'s cellular phone and verified that she had received the request from a "Michael Monger".

On May 4, 2016, Sergeant Lee sent a subpoena to Facebook to retrieve information about the Facebook profile that sent the friend request to B.A.

On May 18, 2016, Sergeant Lee received the information from Facebook regarding the profile. The profile was verified on April 7, 2016 at 1636 hours by a phone number listed to the defendant.

The defendant has a prior conviction from October 12, 2015 for Terroristic Threats as more thoroughly reflected in Crow Wing County District Court File number 18-CR-15-3074. The defendant also pled guilty to Felony Harrassment Previous Conviction or Threaten to Kill and pled guilty to a gross misdemeanor Domestic Violence offense on June 14, 2011 in the State of Washington.
